Dave began writing by composing songs with a schoolfriend, then crafting jokes for BBC radio and TV. This was good discipline for clarity and timing, and the necessity to generate new material in a short time. Eventually, he began writing prose whilst teaching; after satire for a student mag at the RCA and some time later short stories. After being selected for a RLF bursary, and an Escalator scheme at Norwich Writers Centre, he branched out into scripts and longer prose.

His short stories have won competition prizes and been published in anthologies, writing magazines, and broadcast on BBC radio. He has also written stage plays, performed in UK and Australia.

He recently finished his novel Circle Line. PDF of opening chapters.

All Embracing a short story collection (kindle) is available on Amazon.

Dave’s stage plays have been produced on the main stage at the ADC theatre Cambridge.
